And the Outstanding Business Leader Award goes to...our very own Meg Barnden-Hyde!

Updated: 5 hours ago

Congratulations Meg for winning the Outstanding Business Leader New England North West Business Award 2022!

We are so proud of our Mother Hen, who is a very well-loved leader at TG´s Child Care, and her efforts and hard work are being duly recognised!

Meg found her calling from an early age. She had always known she would be working in the Early Childhood environment. So it's no wonder that she has found her home at TG's Child Care!

Did you know that Meg actually started at TG's as a parent herself? So she knows TG's from all possible perspectives! As a parent, she was so bowled over by what TG's did for her children that she wanted to be part of this magic that TG's is doing for children's learning journeys. She became a Preschool Teacher, then an Educational Leader, Centre Manager and now she is NSW State Manager of TG's Child Care!

Those who know Meg well will recognise this:

If you are positive, you’ll see opportunities instead of obstacles and this gives you the possibility to open your frames to reach your fullest potential”. - Meg Barnden-Hyde, NSW State Manager, TG's Child Care

Meg has been helping so many to reach their fullest potential - not just the children, but also her team. What makes Meg such an Outstanding Business Leader?

"She takes the time to listen, supporting whenever needed."

"Meg uses technology in different forms to connect with the different ages of Educators."

"She's considerate of everyone’s needs and takes them on board and intertwines them into what’s best for the company."

"She believes in others and pushes them to see that they can reach their fullest potential!"

"Meg sets a vision and shares that with our team so we can be a part of it."

Ultimately, it's really about creating a positive workplace environment where Educators feel respected, loved and trusted.

At TG's, there's a famous saying that everyone at TG's paddles the canoe together. Meg is very much the Mother Hen leading her team, and she is also supporting others to take on leadership roles. It's all about helping each other to grow and develop, and giving Educators the opportunities to share their gifts confidently.

One cannot deny that TG's Educators are all an incredibly dedicated and passionate group of people. They are always ready to go the extra mile for the children, families and communities. When our Educators do well, we can continue to provide quality care and education to all families across NSW and QLD.

For Meg, a good leader has to be part of the community. That is why it is so important to provide an environment where people feel welcomed, supported, trusted and respected.

Trust and respect - this is especially important in Early Childhood Education. By fully respecting and trusting my team, everyone is more motivated to show initiative, be open, ask questions, to give and absorb feedback. It creates a process whereby we are all constantly learning, from new approaches and from each other.

It has been said often that families who have visited TG's felt something different about TG's. There's something in the air that feels 'just right'. And that has made many decide to come to TG's to experience what Playing is Learning for Life is like. Educators also feel this, and many have made TG's their home away from home. The Educators, the children and their families are one big happy family and a cornerstone of the community.

For Meg, this has been TG's magic ingredient to making TG's so well-loved and reputable. Thank YOU, Meg, for continuing this magic and sharing your amazing leadership with the TG's Family!
