Changes can be fun and exciting, and can sometimes also feel a little uncomfortable. Check out these tips to help your child ease their way into the transitional phase of entering 'Big School'!
As part of the 'pre prep' towards Big School, several of TG's Child Care campuses organise "orientation trips" to local schools for the children to meet with the prep teachers and do some fun school readiness activities e.g. story time, making crafts, fun experiments, getting to know and learning to use the resources in the rooms etc. This gets the children really excited about what to expect, and also puts their minds at ease knowing they are ready for the big step ahead!
Transitioning to school can be an exciting and emotional time for families and also the children. Children need support during this important transition period. At TG's, Educators are always ready to listen to the children and provide a safe space for them to express their feelings. Healthy Harold the Friendly Giraffe has also been helping TG's children to understand their feelings and talk about them. Giving your children the opportunity to simply be heard can help them to ease any concerns they may have.
