Home Away from Home

Updated: May 7, 2021

Alicia Moody is TG's Child Care Urangan's new Centre Manager.

Welcome Alicia to TG's Family!

Alicia's life sparkles with joy because of her two beautiful little girls and they love getting creative together in the kitchen, pulling out ingredients and thinking about what they can do to make something creative and delicious for tea. She also spends time doing arts and crafts with her girls with bits and bobs around the house.

Quality time together can be simple and happiness is the smell of a family-created dish bubbling in a pot, and the sight of lovingly-made decorations around the house.

As a child, Alicia loved time away with her family and she has a store of beautiful memories of family holidays, celebrations, and anecdotes from camping and fishing trips. She brings this same loving quality to her own family now and also to the children and educators under her care at TG's Child Care Urangan. Whether it is sharing laughter with her educators while setting up the centre, or putting up tents in the playspaces with the children, Alicia is right at home at TG's.

Alicia has worked in Early Childhood for 19 years and is extremely passionate about her role supporting children, families and our local community. She sees every child as an amazing world in themselves, regardless of their age and Alicia loves connecting with each one and learning about their experiences, interests and background.

TG's stands out as being a family-owned and operated service, with hands-on owners. TG's prides itself with supporting and nurturing our educators with the same importance as the learning journey we create with the children. We specifically tailor-make our staff development programmes to empower our educators to develop leadership roles and to expand their careers. As our educators grow, they also help to grow the TG's culture. T'´s is a home away from home for our educators. Here, they are heard, valued, respected and cared for.

That is why for educators, going to TG's is not going to work - It is like coming into a loving home. This is an important validation of the loving culture we have at TG's that extends to our educators, children and families.

Spending time with children really helps one's imagination and creativity take flight. If Alicia were a superhero, she would ask for the powers of teleportation so she could go anywhere, anytime by just pressing a button!

After nearly two decades of committing to her Early Childhood career, the most valuable things she has learnt are Understanding, Forgiveness and Acceptance. When we see everyone as a child trying to do their best, we become a lot more understanding, forgiving and accepting of how people are. This helps Alicia build meaningful and beautiful connections and relationships with her educators, children and their families and her community.

Alicia is eager to start at TG's Urangan and to be part of the TG's Family. She shares TG's vision, purpose and values, and educators often find themselves extending that into their own families as well.

Every day, Alicia is grateful for and proud of her two beautiful children. They are her biggest accomplishments and her unique gifts. Her children's antics, humour and zest for life is what makes her days amazing. When Alicia is at TG's, the children give back freely the love, respect, kindness and care they receive from Alicia. Whether at home or at TG's, Alicia is surrounded by so much joy. It is clear this is what Alicia is meant to do and we are so grateful she is here with us, sharing her gifts with TG´s Urangan! Welcome Alicia, to your Home Away from Home!
